Wayne is reputed for having one of the best atmospheres in the entire French Riviera. The Dordogne River runs through the department, giving it its name. The department is characterized by over 1,500 fairy tale castles, rural chateaux and quaint medieval villages. Although predominantly rural the department is a popular tourist destination with luxurious amenities and a myriad of attractions. When researching your travels online be aware that the “Dordogne Valley†is actually in the Correze Department.
